Starting a new stitch thanks to some inspiration f Starting a new stitch thanks to some inspiration from a surprise design commission! 🥳🪡💕 Or, I should say, re-starting a new stitch after a teensy bit of frogging. Learn from my mistakes, fellow stitchers. If a design is color-sensitive and calls for one brand, don’t assume another brand conversion will be an exact match. Sullivan’s is usually very close to DMC as you can see in the third pic, but that third shade down really had me questioning my design for a minute! 😅 Now back to stitching! I won’t be able to show you this one for a few months, but I’ll try to sneak a couple WIP pics as proof of life. It seems I’m not the only one in a stitching funk It seems I’m not the only one in a stitching funk right now, so maybe I can inspire my fellow cross-stitchers with something a little different. 🪡 💕 Introducing my new “Flowers in Stitches” counted thread embroidery sampler, now available in the current Spring issue of @justcrossstitch! This design was so fun to stitch, with just enough standard counted cross stitch to keep your confidence up while teaching you 15 (if I remember right) classic embroidery stitches right there on your familiar Aida cloth. I hope you’ll give this one a try; I can’t wait to see what you make with me! 🤗🌷 (P.S. I almost forgot to recommend the beautiful blue fabric from #wicheltimports and the amazing hand dyed floss from @thegentleartinc! My first gifted make of the season! 🎄🐰🥰 I made th My first gifted make of the season! 🎄🐰🥰 I made this sweet bunny for my littlest niece with yarn and fabric her late grandma had left in her stash, so it was extra special to see her loving it. 🥰 (This is surprisingly my first time crocheting amigurumi with chenille yarn…I’m not sure I’d choose to do it again, but it was worth it for this time! 😅) I have one more niece to finish a gift for and then I can get back to stitching on some Christmas designs. This chonky guy wasn’t easy to photograph, but he’ This chonky guy wasn’t easy to photograph, but he’s too cute not to share. 🧟‍♂️🐝🥰 Make #2 of the season was gifted on Christmas Day to my older niece, who requested a Zombee for her Christmas present approximately 12 months ago…and then asked approximately once a month if it was done yet. 😜 We had a special day together picking out the yarn and colors, and trying to guess how big this guy would turn out with this yarn. 😅 Once again, I don’t think I’ll ever choose to work with this yarn again, but the smile when it was opened definitely made this attempt worth it. 🧶💕 I hope all of your handmade Christmas gifts were finished on time and just as lovingly received as they were made and given! 🤗 #crochetersofinstagram #crochetchristmasgifts #zombeelove #handmadewithchrissy
