Starting a new stitch thanks to some inspiration f Starting a new stitch thanks to some inspiration from a surprise design commission! 🥳🪡💕 Or, I should say, re-starting a new stitch after a teensy bit of frogging. Learn from my mistakes, fellow stitchers. If a design is color-sensitive and calls for one brand, don’t assume another brand conversion will be an exact match. Sullivan’s is usually very close to DMC as you can see in the third pic, but that third shade down really had me questioning my design for a minute! 😅 Now back to stitching! I won’t be able to show you this one for a few months, but I’ll try to sneak a couple WIP pics as proof of life. I’ve made some slow progress on this one…and now I I’ve made some slow progress on this one…and now I think I’m going to rip it out. 😅🤦‍♀️😭 Either the software mock-ups have become less reliable or my designs have been more in need of color accuracy lately, but hopefully one of these days I’ll learn to trust my instincts BEFORE test stitching. I don’t want these stitches to jump off the background, but I’m thinking there wont be any contrast at all with this color. 🤔 It’s fun to play with the waste canvas but it sure makes it hard to confirm what the colors will look like once it’s gone! I’m not doing much creating these days, but I did I’m not doing much creating these days, but I did manage to make this cute little kit for my niece’s birthday a couple weeks ago. 🐣🥰 Am I the only one who loses creative energy after the holidays?? Maybe I’ll force myself to pick up a wip today…or maybe I’ll hang out here for a bit and be inspired by all of your #sundaystitching! 😍🪡🧶💕
This chonky guy wasn’t easy to photograph, but he’ This chonky guy wasn’t easy to photograph, but he’s too cute not to share. 🧟‍♂️🐝🥰 Make #2 of the season was gifted on Christmas Day to my older niece, who requested a Zombee for her Christmas present approximately 12 months ago…and then asked approximately once a month if it was done yet. 😜 We had a special day together picking out the yarn and colors, and trying to guess how big this guy would turn out with this yarn. 😅 Once again, I don’t think I’ll ever choose to work with this yarn again, but the smile when it was opened definitely made this attempt worth it. 🧶💕 I hope all of your handmade Christmas gifts were finished on time and just as lovingly received as they were made and given! 🤗 #crochetersofinstagram #crochetchristmasgifts #zombeelove #handmadewithchrissy
On this #tbt, I’m going to throw it back to the on On this #tbt, I’m going to throw it back to the one that started it all. 🪡💕 “I believe…” was first seen in @justcrossstitch in 2019 as a winner in their ornament design contest. 🎄🎅🥳 It was not only my first Christmas cross stitch design but my first original cross stitch design ever. Getting selected as a winner was a dream come true for the ten year old inside of me who grew up stitching patterns from similar magazines. And now I’ve designed a total of 15 patterns for Just Cross-Stitch, not to mention numerous others for @sulkythreads, @cottonclubcrafts, and more.
